Trees
Adding Trees
Trees add atmosphere and realism to your track. TreCorsa offers two ways to place trees: individual placement or brush painting for forests and groves.
Tree Tool
The Tree tool lets you place individual trees with precise control:
- Left click - Place a tree at that location
- Drag tree - Move a tree to a new position
This tool is perfect for placing specific trees in key locations, like near corners or along straight sections.
Tree Brush
For placing many trees at once, use the Tree Brush mode:
- Left click + drag - Paint trees as you drag across the terrain
- Adjust density - Control how closely trees are spaced (1-20)
- Brush size - Control the area where trees are placed (5-50 meters)
The Tree Brush is perfect for creating forests, groves, or general vegetation around your track. Adjust the density setting to control how many trees are placed as you drag.
Tree Types
TreCorsa supports both 2D and 3D trees:
- 2D Trees - Traditional flat trees (Tree_D, Tree_A, Tree_B). Good for performance and general vegetation
- 3D Trees (CSP) - Realistic 3D trees for Custom Shaders Patch. Various species available including Acacia, Beech, Birch, Oak, Palm, Pine, and Spruce
Creating Custom 2D Trees
You can create your own custom 2D tree sprites using the 2D Tree Maker tool. Upload a PNG image of your tree, adjust positioning and color settings, then save it to your asset bank for use in your tracks.
Best Practices
- Use the Tree Brush for large areas of vegetation - it's much faster than placing trees individually
- Place individual trees strategically near corners or important track sections for visual landmarks
- Consider track visibility - avoid placing too many trees near the track that might obstruct the view
- Use lower density settings for sparse forests, higher density for dense vegetation
