Kerbs

Adding Kerbs

Kerbs are the raised edges along roads that define track boundaries. They provide visual and physical separation between the track surface and runoff areas.

Kerb Tool Controls

  • Left click road edge - Place a kerb point (automatically snaps to the road edge)
  • Right click point - Delete that kerb point

The Kerb tool automatically snaps to road edges, making it easy to place kerbs along your track layout.

Kerb Properties

When the Kerb tool is active, you can adjust:

  • Width - How wide the kerb is (0.2-3.0 meters)
  • Height - How tall the kerb rises above the road (0.01-0.5 meters)
  • Ribbon Frequency - Number of ribbon strips across the kerb (1-30).
  • Ribbon Height - Height of the ribbon strips (0-0.2 meters)
  • Tooth Width - Horizontal width of the steep "step-up" face of the kerb (0.01-0.5 meters)
  • Offset - Horizontal offset from the road edge. Negative values move kerbs inward, positive values move them outward

Snap To

Kerbs automatically snap to Road Edge by default. This ensures they align perfectly with your road geometry.

Best Practices

  • Use appropriate height - too high and cars will fly, too low and they won't be effective
  • Consider track layout - kerbs help define racing lines and track boundaries
  • You can create multiple separate kerb paths for different sections of track
